| Details: | Delivering benefits through a programme of national and regional e-auctions Value for money and effective procurement have never been more essential than they are in the present climate. When managed well, e-auctions deliver highly competitive pricing and, often, considerable savings compared to existing contracts. Savings vary by category and are frequently in excess of 10% and, through OGC’s IT hardware e-auction programme, are reliably measured at up to 50% In addition to highly competitive pricing, they are legally compliant with procurement rules, transparent, and demand total clarity on the part of suppliers In November 2009, OGC announced the launch of a new centre for e-auctions. The centre works across the public sector to coordinate and support greater use of e-auctions, particularly where there is scope for collaboration. The centre aims to build capability, deliver savings and support policy through procurement initiatives. |
